Clinton McFarland has been preaching and teaching the Word of God for over 20 years.  Born in 1967, in Shubuta, Mississippi, he proudly began serving the church community as a musician in his father’s church at the tender age of eight.  At the age of twenty-two he accepted the mandate from God to proclaim His Word.  Because his passion for the word of God was so evident, five months after preaching his first sermon, John the Baptist Church of Pachuta, Mississippi called him as pastor.  After serving John the Baptist Church for seven years, Pastor McFarland was called to Southside Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi where he served for eleven years.

Pastor McFarland has served the church community for most of his life.  His platform for ministry of the gospel has not been limited to the pulpit.  He is also a popular composer/gospel recording artist and has led souls to Christ in the  concert arena through the ministry of sacred music.  He has had the privilege to minister with many gospel greats.  In addition to his ministry through song, Pastor McFarland has authored his first book, Life After Divorce, “The Story of One Pastor’s Triumph over the Tragedy of Divorce”.

As a result of his faithfulness to the work of the Kingdom, God has tremendously blessed his ministry.  He is highly respected amongst his peers as a preacher’s preacher.  Over the years, he has been selected as the keynote speaker in many District Associations and Ministerial Alliances.

Currently, he proudly serves as the Senior Pastor of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.  During his brief tenure as pastor, Mount Pleasant has experienced tremendous growth.  The membership has increased substantially, the spiritual climate continues to escalate, and the congregation, have a mind to work collectively in accordance with his vision.  Skilled in leadership qualities, Pastor McFarland has orchestrated revitalization, modernization and expansion projects for the Mount Pleasant campus facilities.  In addition, since his arrival, several new ministries have been founded which effectively address vital needs of the parishioners and the community. Not only does he serve as Pastor, but he is a compassionate and biblically-inspired counselor.  He cherishes a prayer life which over many years has established a direct connection to God.  Such a relationship has positioned him to lead God’s people with grateful humility and reverence.  The same positioning has situated him in a place of special favor within the city and nation.

He is blessed to share each day of his life with his beautiful, supportive wife and best friend, Tamara. He is the proud father of two beautiful children, Dwanna and Clinton McFarland.  For all of the above, Pastor McFarland gives God complete glory!
